Frequently asked questions

What can therapy do for me?

Therapy can help in various different life aspects. Common topics we focus on include enhancing relationships, learning to express emotions more effectively, changing undesired behaviors, improving at work or school, or shifting thought patterns. We also work to empower you by developing coping skills, supporting you to become a better self-advocate, and learn to set your own limits.

What do we do in therapy?

Our role as your therapist is to create a welcoming environment that you feel comfortable in. We work to meet you where you’re at while keeping in mind your goals and helping you reach your destination. We provide encouragement, help you problem solve, develop skills to feel better about your situation, educate about the mind, process past pain, and pass along resources you may need.

Your role is to give yourself grace and understanding that:

1. You are doing the best you can

2. It takes hard work to get where we want to be

3. Change takes time!

How much do sessions cost?

$170 - $200 per 50-minute, individual session

$215 - $240 per 70-minute relational (family or couple) session

If you have any questions about payment or fees, please reach out and we’d be happy to answer your questions. We are able to accept major credit and debit cards. Payment is due the day of session and we are able to provide superbills for you to submit to insurance for partial reimbursement.

Are you accepting insurance?

We are not currently accepting insurance.

Clients that pay out of pocket have the benefit of privacy that insurance companies do not allow. Using insurance for sessions requires me to share your mental health information, which can be used against you to limit coverage in the future. At times, insurance approves limited sessions and can get in the way of the natural progression of the therapeutic process.

Confidentiality is of the utmost importance and is central to the integrity of our work. Because of this we do not accept insurance. We can offer superbills that you can submit to insurance for possible partial coverage determined by your insurance provider.

How long will I be in therapy?

It depends! The length of the therapeutic relationship varies. We have some clients that only need help adjusting to a new dynamic and they may only require a few tools, so our time together could be as short as 10-15 sessions. Others need more long term support to restore or find balance in their lives. Regardless, we work with you to figure out what your timeline is, and what we think is most appropriate.

What if I need to cancel a session?

If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you will be charged for the full rate of the session.
